Parkwood Baptist Church exists to bring glory and
honor to God. The church best honors God by following the two
greatest commandments and the great commission. The foremost
commandment is to “Love the Lord your God with all your heart…” The
church has been called by God to love Him supremely in response to
His great love for us in sending Jesus to die for us. The church
seeks to love God more than anything or
anyone.
The church also seeks to bring glory to God by
following the second greatest commandment which is to “love your
neighbor as yourself.” The church has sought to show this love by
serving in the community in various ways. Most recently the church
gave out nearly 400 bottles of water for free to those attended the
Parkwood Flea Market. The church has also tried to demonstrate this
love by serving free Snow Cones to the families who attended the
4th of July Celebration at the Parkwood Associational
office.
Finally the church attempts to bring glory to God by
fulfilling the great commission. The great commission is a call to
tell others that they can be reconciled to God by repenting of their
sins and having faith in the death, burial, and resurrection of
Jesus Christ.
